To provide products with the spotlight they deserve, I consistently aim to deliver high-quality performance, striking an elegant balance between functionality and aesthetics. Below is a selection of my commissioned work as an Art Director in Photography.
My tenure as an Art Director for On Running in 2019/2020 was a good opportunity to craft aesthetically appealing concepts within the realm of running and sports.
Run, but run in style.
This special edition «Terry» got shot in an architectural masterpiece build by artist and architect Ricardo Bolfi in Calpe (ES). The location not only offers elegance, timelessness, and lightness, but also playfulness for an everyday shoe like the «Cloud ON Terry».

In ordert to advertise ON Runnings‘ standout and first-of-its-kind running shoe model «Cloud Surfer», we got inspired by the surfy feeling when walking in these shoes. Hunting for an entertaining method to explain the insole technology, we scripted a short documentary comparing a surfboard shaper to a running shoe developer. Whilst understanding the differences and overlaps in the development process the clip simultaneously visualizes the complex technology in a simple manner.
To complement the story of the surfboard shaper we localized the perfect location for our still images in Copenhagen. There, the city built a wave-like asphalt surface where our athletes and models could demonstrate the unique performance of the shoe. The wavy asphalt was picked up again to design the graphics for the instore racks and vitrine.

For this special edition that glows in the dark, no name could have been more appropriate than «Cloudedge Moonlight». In order to advertise the «Cloudedge Moonlight» we shot on a former glacier in Switzerland between Valais and Uri. The moon like surface is a result of the shrinking of the glacier which leaves a rather moon-like landscape, as a result of the snowmelt. For achieving a higher abstraction for the images, we worked with lighting in blue and magenta. The pictures where taken just before the sunrise during the blue hours. It was freezing cold, but worth it.

For a ultra marathon trail running shoe named «Peak» we found sharp pointed peaks in the Dolomites (IT) resembling the bottom of the shoe.
To mirror the colors of the shoe we where avoiding to work with too much colors, therefore we aimed for a rather cloudy then a blue bird sky. That was quite a unusual task – to wait not for the sun but for the clouds.
